America’s Got Talent rankings: Where Joseph O’Brien, Us the Duo, Rob Lake stand

America's Got Talent

The latest America’s Got Talent episode is airing on NBC Tuesday night and given that this is the final quarterfinal show, this is meant to be a big one. Will some non-singing acts have their moment in the sun, or will the results be fairly familiar? This is an interesting mix and the good news is that 11 of the 12 acts have at least a small chance of advancing.

Below, you can see where we’ve ranked all twelve acts based on performance quality, screen time to date, and America’s past voting history. There’a also a video below for more discussion on the series — you can subscribe to our You Tube for more updates and check out our America’s Got Talent playlist!

12. Hans – He’ll be fun, campy, and ridiculous, but it’s hard to take his prospects in the actual competition seriously. He’s here for the humor and for one of the judges to buzz.

11. Aaron Crow – There’s a huge jump from #12 to #11 in terms of potential. What Aaron does is super-cool but, at the same time, the exit of The Sacred Riana shows that the voting public just isn’t interested in weird/creepy acts.

10. The Future Kingz – We actually think that they’re the best dance crew in the competition, but they have had some bad luck performing after so many others. The appetite for dance acts may not be what it once was.

9. Christina Wells – You can’t rule her out because of her being a singer, but we didn’t think her Judge Cuts performance was particularly strong. She could be the rare singer to go home before the semifinals.

8. UDI Dance Team – They’re insanely talented, but we do wonder if the show is just going to sell them as Light Balance 2.0. They haven’t been super-memorable so far.

7. Us the Duo – These sort of acts can have challenges since it’s often easier for a solo singer to advance — yet, We Three was able to pull it off.

6. Rob Lake – He’s a talented magician and a more traditional one than anyone else this season in this category. The one thing holding him back is a lack of airtime.

5. Daniel Emmet – Maybe we’re a little nuts for ranking a wild-card act this high, but we just think that there’s a history of opera singers lasting at least a round or two in the live shows.

4. Michael Ketterer – While we don’t think that he has the staying power of an Amanda Mena or a Courtney Hadwin, he is still a singer with a golden buzzer to his name.

3. Brian King Joseph – In between the quality of his musicianship and his performance, there’s just something joyful and mesmerizing about him. We’ve seen violinists on the series before, but there is something different about him.

2. Joseph O’Brien – Maybe we’re overrating Joseph somewhat here, but we’re thinking mostly about him being the goofy, endearing young guy singer who is going to get a lot of votes because he’s so likable. Of course, he also does have talent.

1. Zurcaroh – Are we concerned about the long wait since their first audition? Sure, but this is us having some hope that America is going to get this right since they are one of the strongest acts this whole season.
