Bodyguard episode 2 preview: What lies ahead for Richard Madden, cast?
The first thing that we should note here is that episode 2 of the Richard Madden series is going to be here a little bit earlier than you would first think — in just 24 hours’ time! The episode is going to air on Monday, which we imagine is a move made in order to ensure viewers get hooked on the story of David Budd and Julia Montague as soon as humanly possible. This is a fascinating story about a Specialist Protection officer who does what he can in order to help someone whose views don’t exactly align with his own. It’s a smart story, a challenging one, and may say a thing or two about the relationship between politics and humanity. We’re also just glad to see the former Game of Thrones star getting some more quality work.

With the UK terror threat level raised to severe, Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes) holds secret meetings with the Director General of the Security Service (Stuart Bowman) – freezing out her own Minister for Counter Terrorism (Vincent Franklin) and the police, led by Commander Anne Sampson (Gina McKee).
Specialist Protection officer David Budd (Richard Madden) is on high alert as Julia’s hardline stance on national security propels her further into the public eye. With his home life becoming more difficult, it appears as if David’s natural animosity towards the Home Secretary is beginning to fade. Pressured to spy on her by senior police officers, where will his loyalties lie?
At the time that Bodyguard episode 2 comes on the air, we are still going to be in a spot where we are getting to know and understand some of these characters. This episode serves as an opportunity to really establish the world better — if you’re hooked on this show by the time that episode 2 concludes, we know that the series will have done its job.
