Absentia season 2: Three things we want as filming nears
Anyway, what do we want from season 2 as we await the start of production? We’ve certainly had a lot of time to thinking about it, but here are just three things that would serve as a great starting point for the Sony series (which will hopefully air once more on Amazon in the US).
A great mystery – We’d personally love for there to be a case that superficially doesn’t have anything to do with Stana Katic’s Emily Byrne. Yet, she discovers over time that there is something about it that is so much more personal than she first realized. This is just an opportunity for her to be able to experience something new and then see how that present impacts her past.
A different dynamic – Given everything that happened when it came to Emily, Nick, and Alice during season 1, we’d like to see the dynamic between the three characters play out in a very different way than what we’ve seen so far. Maybe Alice finds herself in a position where she needs Emily’s help, and there is a mystery that doesn’t just put Emily in the crosshairs.
New characters – There are inevitably going to be many new faces we meet this season, simply because there are some characters who have to be a part of a new mystery. We’re excited to meet them, and we hope that come and pose new challenges for Emily, Nick, and everyone else we’ve met. For one, it would be nice to see Emily make a new friend — or at least someone she thinks could be her friend on some level.

I want more mood music.
Sometimes the music sets the tone and the feelings that the movie wants the audience to identify with.
Half of the success of Jaws was the musical scores.
Every time that big plastic shark was to appear the music cued our fear factor.
I still hold my breath when I hear that music.

A strong female supporting character for Emily performed by a strong actress is critical. Strong supporting characters enhance the lead character’s role and the leading actors performance. Strong supporting characters so a high level of maturity in the writing and directing of a show. 2 strong supporting characters would be better than 1, but at least one.
