Suits season 8 episode 8 spoilers: First discussion on ‘Coral Gables’
To date, the things that we’ve come to learn about this character are limited. For example, it seems that she had a difficult childhood given how far she went to expose fraud in the charity last week. Yet, almost everything else she’s an enigma because she tells different stories to different people. Suits doesn’t rely on flashbacks too much (though we do get them here and there), but for exploring Samantha’s past, the writers seem more interested in using a device that allows them to dive into it in the present. Basically, she’s going to find a problem from the past that she needs some help to resolve. This is where Harvey Specter comes into play.
The Suits season 8 episode 8 synopsis gives you the slightest bit of news on what to expect:
Harvey helps Samantha settle an old score. Louis faces a hurdle on the path to fatherhood.
As for the Louis Litt story, it makes all the sense in the world that he’s going to run into so many more problems on his path towards eventually getting his happiness. We’re just glad that the writers are really tackling this. For starters, this is the first time that Suits has really been able to tackle a main character becoming a parent — though we do at least have a parent in the group now in Alex Williams and this could bring he and Louis closer together. We’ve really come to see a lot of Louis’ journey over the years, but in the long-term, we do wonder if much of this story is going to need to be addressed off-screen. After all, Rachael Taylor (who plays Sheila) is a series regular over on Lucifer. It’s a similar sort of scheduling challenge to what they have with Wendell Pierce (who plays Robert Zane).
