Hawaii Five-0 season 9 spoilers: Louis Gossett Jr. to play Grover’s father
According to a new report from TVLine, the legendary Louis Gossett Jr. is going to be appearing in the series’ upcoming Thanksgiving-themed episode as the father of Chi McBride’s character. This is an exciting development since it will help to flesh out this character a little bit more from the man we’ve come to know and care about. Also, this iapperance is going to happen in the episode that McBride wrote himself, so he had an opportunity to really paint a great picture of who he wants this man to be. It feels like we know Lou so well in some ways, but there are still some significant holes that need to be filled in and this is a great opportunity to do just that.

While the specific reason for Gossett’s character to be on the series is still a mystery, it’s nonetheless exciting to have him on board at a time when family matters the most –we’re just happy that there are still some opportunities to get to know some of these characters better nine years in, given we’re at the point where you would start to assume that you just know everything about these characters already. That’s one of the things that we love about this show – they keep finding ways to show us different parts of these characters lives so many years in.
New episodes of Hawaii Five-0 season 9 will air starting on September 28, and we’re sure that there are going to be many great stories ahead of Gossett’s first appearance. Depending on what happens in his episode, it definitely does feel like there is a whole lot of room here for a return appearance and with there always being such a strong focus on “family” on this show, it would make sense to want to see him back for more.
