The Resident season 2 could feature possible deaths, departures

The Resident

If you love The Residentwe suggest that you prepare yourself for what looks as though it’s going to be a super-emotional season 2. There will surely be some great victories for a few different characters, but all signs suggest that these will be some reasons for sadness or tears, as well.

Basically, not everyone you see in season 2 is going to remain at Chastian forever — some characters could die, and others could depart via other means. We’ve already learned that this show does have a certain degree of flux to it, as we’ve already seen through season 1 the departure of Dr. Lane Hunter as well as the hospital’s former CEO Claire Thorpe. (Dr. Hunter will return in some capacity, but not seemingly as a regular.)

So what are we going to see in more specific terms? Speaking more on the subject via TVLine, executive producer Todd Harthan had the following to say:

“What you’ll find in the first six episodes are several characters on the board that legitimately could exit our world, one way or another. That’s both returning and new … there are more characters on the board that you’re going to be invested in, that you’re going to care about, that you’re going to be rooting for, who are either in medical or physical danger.”

Basically, consider this your warning to be prepared in advance given that there are going to be many difficult emotional, painful moments coming for some of these characters. The best thing that you can do is be prepared for it and anticipate some sadness — yet, don’t use that as a reason to not get invested in these stories. All indications we’re getting at present is that this is a show that is meant to make you feel some really raw, human things. It’s not just trying to be another medical show on the air.
