The photo above makes a couple of things clear — for starters, McGee is keeping the goatee. Also, Tim, Palmer, and Gibbs all seem to be concerned about something. Maybe they are looking at some information or they’ve all come to the same conclusion at once.

Take a look now at the official NCIS season 16 episode 1 synopsis for more insight:
“Destiny’s Child” – One month after Director Vance was kidnapped, Gibbs is assigned the role of acting director in his absence while the team searches worldwide for his whereabouts, on the 16th season premiere of NCIS, Tuesday, Sept. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
This episode is more than likely going to bring many different but great things to the table, and there could be some surprises! One of the biggest ones is that there is still some sort of a time jump, given that most early indications were that we weren’t getting a huge one like what we had going into season 15. (Granted, one month is a shorter time jump than what we had last season, so we suppose that is still true.)
“Destiny’s Child” is going to mark the first NCIS episode with Diona Reasonover as a series regular following the exit of Pauley Perrette. There has been no news on any other cast changes at this time.
