Queen Sugar season 4 premiere date hopes: When should it be back?
Let’s kick off things here with a reminder, or a note for those of you unaware, that there will be a Queen Sugar season 4 at some point in the future! This was confirmed earlier this summer (and you can read more about that here), and this show continues to do its best to create great drama while also allowing different creative voices to be heard. Season 4 is reportedly going to feature a new showrunner as well.
Now as for when season 4 is going to premiere, nothing is official yet and it’s hard to imagine that anything would be, given of course the sole fact that it’s still so far away! With that being said, we do personally think that the best time to bring back Queen Sugar would be in the summer of 2019, mostly to continue along the path that it is on right now and really ensure that the show keeps a stable viewing audience for as long as possible. Bouncing a show around on the schedule can inevitably hurt its ratings, and given that the numbers for season 3 were down by a pretty hefty margin versus season 2, we want to see things stabilize.

Basically, our argument to keep it in the summer is because we want to see the series last as long as possible. We don’t think that it’s altogether unreasonable to start thinking about season 5 even before season 4 premieres! This sort of forward thinking is really what helps to ensure that shows stick around and they continue to build a big fanbase. Queen Sugar already has that on social media, but why not continue to expand outwards to find more?

Not to sound negative.. the summer of 2019 is too far away. You get into the series and then it’s gone away. Viewers move on to other shows and loose interest. I believe that’s what happened to the ratings between seasons 2 and 3. Please consider bringing Queen Sugar back sooner and play reruns and keep on Demand until the new season begins.
