The Hills: New Beginnings: Are Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari appearing?

Last night, MTV made an official announcement that we know many out there have been anticipating for a little while now: They are bringing back The Hills. The new series is entitled The Hills: New Beginnings, and it is going to air at some point in the upcoming year.

So what do we know so far? We have some information about it in the video below (be sure to subscribe to the CarterMatt YouTube channel for some more updates), but to go along with that, there are a few things other things of note.

First, know that Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Partridge, Jason Wahler, Stephanie Pratt, and Justin Bobby Brescia all seem to be on board to some degree. The discussions that we’ve heard seem to suggest that there could be some other faces we see, whether they be new or old, as well. Basically, our sense is that MTV wants to give this the feel of the original The Hills, but also expand outward in a way that they aren’t quite doing when it comes to Jersey Shore Family Vacation.

So what about Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari? Don’t expect much from either one of them and for good reason. For Conrad, she has a fashion line and other stuff that she’s working on; meanwhile, Cavallari now has her own reality series on E! that features herself and her husband Jay Cutler. Basically, what she’s got going on over there is a better situation than what she’d have over on The Hills and there is zero reason for her to make the jump. We don’t get the sense that there is any ill will here, but people are moving forward and are just trying to do something different with their lives now.
