Outlander season 4 key art hopes: What should be featured?

Outlander season 4 key art

Just last week, the glorious news was (finally) confirmed that Outlander season 4 is going to be premiering on Starz on Sunday, November 4. Now, we’re looking towards the next order of business: Waiting for the promotional key art.

While it’s possible that we get a season 4 trailer before the key art comes out, our feeling is that they could either come in tandem or the key art could come out first. This is how Starz will present the series visually to people coming up — even years. The season 3 key art above is on everything from posters to soundtracks to some DVD covers. It’s everywhere, and it makes some sense given that it’s fantastic and it paints a really clear picture of what great key art should be: Something that features the characters, the premiere date, and also a small tease of what the story could be. Here, you see the difference in time periods, Jamie and Claire, and the sense of longing that is at the center of the show.

So what should the season 4 key art present? Given that Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are the stars of the series, of course they should be at the center. Yet, we’re also hoping for something more similar to the season 2 key art, which painted the series as a little bit more of an ensemble. (See below.)

Even if they do decide on a smaller number of characters than the season 2 art, we do hope that the show finds a way to spotlight Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin in some way given the enormous impact that Bree and Roger have on the story to come. America should also be prominently featured given that is the main setting, and we certainly would be happy to see some other actors featured like John Bell, Lauren Lyle, Cesar Domboy, David Berry, or others — but we know it’s best not to get too greedy.
