Fear the Walking Dead season 4: Lennie James on possible Walking Dead return
During the Fear the Walking Dead season 4 midseason premiere, we saw Lennie James’ character start to seriously consider whether or not he wants to remain away from Alexandria and the surrounding communities. This is something that we felt would be a big part of the series in due time, largely because we never got the impression that his appearance over on Fear the Walking Dead would be a permanent one. Also (and not that Morgan knows this), but he could be very much needed if Rick Grimes dies at Alexandria or if something else happens to him in the near future.
Speaking about Morgan’s journey, and his desire to return, to ComicBook.com, here is what James had to say:
“I think that that’s something that he comes to realize once he’s left the place, that that [the Fear the Walking Dead world] is not where he belongs … [Alexandria] is some place that has become home for him, and he has the question about whether or not, like he says, that he never should’ve left, and that he wants to get back there to say to Rick, ‘Okay, smartass, you were right. I did find my way back to people.’ And that’s where he thinks, at this particular moment, he finds that he should be.”
James will presumably still be around on Fear the Walking Dead for a little while — personally, we’d be shocked if the actor ends up departing before the end of season 4. If you’ve got him in the cast, why wouldn’t you take advantage of that? Also, keeping him for a little while does set the stage for a possible crossover with the flagship show.
