Strange Angel season 2 renewal: Will it happen on CBS All Access?

Strange Angel

Following today’s finale, will a Strange Angel season 2 renewal happen on CBS All Access? At the moment, we definitely think that there are question marks when it comes to the series’ future.

Putting a show like Strange Angel on the streaming service is a challenge. By and large, CBS All Access is still relatively unproven when it comes to original franchises. While it did manage find hits in both Star Trek: Discovery as well as The Good Fight, both of those shows came on board with established fan bases. That was a big way to get some people on board the streaming service beyond just watching Big Brother live feeds. (We do think that it was smart to have Strange Angel out there at the same time that people are subscribing to Big Brother.)

Ultimately, we do think that the future of this series is really dependent on however much faith the folks at CBS All Access have with the series, largely because of the fact that the network doesn’t release information on the ratings for any of their series. They don’t have to since it’s not really measured by Nielsen in the same way. We think that they are going to look at the series’ overall viewership, but then beyond that how many people are consistently watching the series every week. If there were a ton of viewers who saw the premiere but not too many since then, we do think that this lowers the odds dramatically of the show coming back for another season. It’s the same sort of system that Netflix and a number of other streaming services utilize as a means to ensure that their shows are worthy of coming back for another season.

Once we do have some more news regarding the future of Strange Angel, we will be sure to let you know.
