Gotham season 5 spoilers: Is Bane’s father being cast?

Gotham

While Gotham season 5 may not have a whole lot of time in order to tell its story, it does seem as though the series is going to make the most of it.

For a prime example of that, just look at one of the characters the series is bringing on board. Per a report from That Hashtag Show, the Fox series is currently casting a character in his mid-thirties to early forties named Eduardo Dorrance. This is a character who is described as being strong, fit, and relentless in his cause. He is a soldier and with that, he does hold firm to a number of the rules and central tenets that are near and dear to him.

Here is where things get even more interesting when it comes to this particular character, as Dorrance in the comics is King Snake. He’s a mercenary, someone with a history with the British Army and also just so happened to be the father of a certain character by the name of Bane. Are we going to get a Bane origin story on the series moving forward? The idea of that is very much exciting, but we didn’t exactly think that it’s going to be an enormous focus. There are so many other things going on, whether it be the aftermath of the finale or bringing Bruce Wayne actually close to Batman — after all, we know that this is where the series is eventually going!

Gotham season 5 will premiere on Fox at some point in 2019, and we have a feeling that there will probably be a little more casting news in the weeks to come. We don’t think there will be too many new characters over the season, but clearly there are some new faces stopping by occasionally.
