Instinct season 2 spoilers: The Last Ship alum set to recur
According to a new report from TVLine, Travis Van Winkle is poised to recur on the Alan Cumming-led CBS drama in the role of Ryan Stock, a former military man and police officer who hails from Nebraska. He is going to be in New York City looking for a killer originally from his home town. He thinks that they may be responsible for a murder in the Big Apple, and we have to imagine that he could be a help to Dylan and Lizzie.
While it’s hard to say how Van Winkle factors into the overall story of Instinct season 2, we will say this: It’s rather nice to get a familiar face onto the show to mix things up a little bit. We also do think that there will be a rather-hefty audience there to welcome them — Instinct was one of the most-watched new dramas of midseason, though it didn’t exactly get a ton of credit for it. We just hope that CBS chooses to give the series a little bit more of a prime timeslot moving into season 2 (or at least an earlier premiere) so that it has a better chance to shine. With the Winter Olympics really messing things for the midseason schedule, among other things, it was hard to cram in all of the first season before Memorial Day Weekend.
If you haven’t caught Instinct yet, we encourage you to seek it out and watch it given that there’s a lot of fun to be had with the show. It’s got great stars who have good chemistry with each other and some solid mysteries to go along with it. It’s an old-school crime series that doesn’t bog you down too much or depress you.
