The Sinner season 2 episode 3 video: Why did Adam, Bess take Julian?

The Sinner season 2 episode 1

The Sinner season 2 episode 3 is airing on USA Wednesday night, and (unsurprisingly) there are questions about Julian at the center of this story.

Specifically, think along the lines of this: Was he trying to escape the compound at The Grove, or was he actually abducted by Adam and Bess? At the end of this past episode, it was clear that neither of these people had any intention of coming back there and were trying to leave for good.

Now, Vera is ramping up some of the accusations by saying in the video below that Julian was abducted by these two, meaning that he was there with them against his will. This does explain as to why he would poison them, given that he may have thought that this was a way in which he could escape. Yet, this doesn’t explain how he knew a way in which to poison them. It feels almost like he was taught that either someone did abduct him or this was a planned abduction on some level. We just know that the average kid doesn’t know how to make tea using a local plant that he can then use to kill someone else.

There’s also another question here worth wondering: If Julian was abducted, why was there a bag with his stuff back at the compound? It made sense that he didn’t have clothes or a toothbrush if he was just taken, but the bag suggests some element of premeditation … or that this is something Vera and company got together after the fact to create an illusion, just in case they didn’t have to push the abducted angle. Now, they may not feel as though they have a choice.
