Salvation season 2 episode 8 preview: ‘The Manchurian Candidate’

The first thing that we can say about Salvation season 2 episode 8 is that the CBS series is clearly intent on keeping one habit the same moving forward: Episode titles that double as movie references. We had that tonight with “Abre Sus Ojos,” and we do think that we’re also going to have that moving into the next new episode with “The Manchurian Candidate.”

So what could this episode be about? We don’t think that you have to do too much more other than look at the name for the installment. This is likely going to be an episode that is all about some sort of political political intrigue, though we also would not advice going and actually studying the original movie in hopes of gaining some sort of powerful insight. We think of the titles more as nods to some of the story that could be coming, but they are not meant to be thought of as remakes by any means.

What this is mostly a reflect of is some of the problems that come with being at the top, and also just how difficult it is being around Presidential politics at a time of great crisis. We obviously think that Salvation is a show about surviving the end of the world, as that is something that is mentioned within the show’s very title. However, at the same time we do also think it’s a clear reference to some of these characters trying to find themselves and seeing if they can survive and navigate some of the difficult roadblocks that are piling up in front of them.

Hopefully, what we get a chance to see on this particular episode is another series of twists that keeps us on our toes, and also gets us ready for some of the drama near the end of the season.
