Outlander notes: Highlanders 3 wraps; other conventions to come
Let’s start, of course, with the news that Highlanders 3 is set to be officially said and done for the year. The UK convention this year featured Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, Nell Hudson, David Berry, Tobias Menzies, and a number of other familiar faces and seemed as a whole to be a really great time. It was nice to see most of the cast in a relaxed environment taking photos and goofing around with each other. Take, Richard and Sophie messing around with each other during their panel yesterday, Tobias chatting about The Crown, or David getting in line to talk to Sophie during a discussion earlier today.

Yet, today marks the end of the road for this convention, though there are going to be some others coming down the road. Yesterday, we told you a little bit about the New Jersey convention coming next weekend, just as we also told you about Sasnak City in November. We haven’t reported too much at CarterMatt about Wizard World Chicago just yet, but as of right now it seems as though Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are going to be there alongside Richard, Sophie, Lotte Verbeek, Graham McTavish, and series author Diana Gabaldon. We don’t know how Sam is pulling all of this off since he’s also going to be traveling to South Africa soon for Bloodshot … maybe he has found a source for unlimited energy?
Also, don’t forget about New York Comic-Con either! That is happening in October and that’s probably the biggest celebration of Outlander that there is over the next few months. We imagine that there will be some sort of footage at the convention from season 4, though we hesitate to go so far as to say that the show is going to hand everyone the premiere episode again … awesome as that would be.
So even though the next week or so may be a little bit slower insofar as major Outlander news goes, rest assured that there are plenty of opportunities to see your favorites as the cast and crew takes advantage of some of their time off work.
