America’s Got Talent: Courtney Hadwin, Shin Lim, Mochi in live show #1

America's Got Talent

The First America’s Got Talent live show lineup has been announced, and we have to say that, in general, this is a very impressive group of people that have been assembled. We do wonder at the moment if it’s been stacked a little too much, but sometimes it’s really hard to say until we see all the live shows. There are times in which one lineup seems much stronger on paper than it ends up being.

Courtney Hadwin We’ve had her ranked #1 among all of the Golden Buzzers all season, as of right now she’s the favorite to win. Expect her to perform last on Tuesday night.

Shin Lim – The sensational close-up magician does something very few other people can do — but will Americans appreciate it enough?

Human Fountains – They are one of the three wild-card acts who were chosen by America leading up to the episode airing, and we certainly do think that they are worthy from an entertainment standpoint … but they have no chance of advancing.

Junior New System – A fun, energetic dance group with a unique twist (the heels). It’s too bad this field is so tough.

Vikci Barbolak – A fantastic, seasoned comedian with a unique point of view. She’s not a lock, but she’s a solid darkhorse.

Amanda Mena – Another Golden Buzzer act, and we’re genuinely surprised that she and Courtney are in the same show. We can easily see them both in the finale.

Flau’jae – She’s the most-recent Golden Buzzer recipient and she is a total toss-up in terms of how America will vote for her. There’s just not enough of a voting history here for hip-hop artists on this series.

We Three – We think that in between their story and the type of music they play, they’re almost locks to make it further.

Lord Nil – This is a tough field, but we really like what Nil brings to the show and really would like to see him advance — there aren’t many other danger acts.

Mochi – He’s really the only diabolo artist of his kind that we’ve ever seen on the show, and we think that what he does is SUPER unique — we just worry that he may not get enough credit for it.

Angel City Chorale – There are a LOT of vocally-based acts performing this time around, and of course we’re left to wonder if some will cancel each other out. Angel City Chorale is probably our second favorite behind Courtney … but there isn’t a great history for these acts on the show.

PAC Dance Team – They’ve had some good auditions so far, and we do think that they are coming on board this season with a certain amount of celebrity behind them already. Yet, dance crews haven’t been super-successful on the live shows in some time.
