Should Hawaii Five-0 season 9 remake any other classic episodes?
We’ve already seen that this premiere episode, created in honor of the anniversary of the original series, has received a tremendous amount of attention. It’s one of the most buzzed-about premieres, in fact, in some time. With that in mind, is this something that the series should do again moving forward, whether it is later on in season 9 or down the road?

We understand the case for making it happen, given that there are a lot of people out there who grew up on the original series and are really going to enjoy seeing this new version play out. There are certainly some other episodes out there worthy of remakes.
Yet, we envision this more as the sort of thing that is a one-and-done affair at this point — think along the lines of the “fan-built” episode from a ways back. Hawaii Five-0 has plenty of other ways to honor the original show — they’ve inserted a ton of references to the classic series over the years, and they also brought in Ed Asner to play the same character that he did on the original so many years ago. This is more what we expect moving forward when it comes to classic nods and references.
Also, “Cocoon” aside, you do want the new Hawaii Five-0 to feel different and its own thing — the classic episodes are still out there and available for viewers to watch.
