American Horror Story: Apocalypse teaser brings in the scorpions
For the sake of this latest teaser, they are doing that may taking the rather-simple image of a fig and then unleashing a pair of scorpions underneath. This is a creepy image designed to completely and utterly freak you out, and our basic response to it is simply this: It’s working.
Is this teaser particularly scary? To us, not so much but a big part of fear is that it is subjective. Certainly people are inevitably going to be terrified of different things and we’re sure that there are some people out there completely petrified of something like this. Scorpions just aren’t the sort of thing that really freak us out, and the same goes for snakes. Granted, though, in general we don’t think that American Horror Story has been for quite some time a show that is about freaking you out to the point where you are screaming at the television desperate for it to end. Instead, we compare it more to the show that is designed to just have you feeling a little bit uneasy or uncomfortable. If it does that, we imagine that the producers feel like they have ultimately done their job.
The new seaosn is set to begin this September with a cast that includes a number of familiar faces from both Murder House and Coven — for a little more on the return of Jessica Lange in particular, be sure to visit the link here. That’s the return appearance that is really drawing headlines.
