SEAL Team season 2 spoilers: Ray Donovan alum among new recurring players

SEAL Team premiere ratings

Even though SEAL Team season 2 may not be premiering on CBS until we get around to the fall, you don’t have to wait to get some casting news!

A new report coming in right now (via Deadline) is revealing that Ray Donovan alum Michael McGrady as well as Ruffin Prentiss of The Arrangement, have been added to the recurring cast for season 2. They won’t appear in every episode by any means, but they will have a key role to play in the show.

For McGrady, he will be taking on the role of a “confident and skilled” mentor to members of the Bravo Team known as Commanding Officer Harrington. He’s a man who is both extremely skilled and extremely experienced, and he is going to be carrying that into everything that he does. We just hope at this point he can live up to some of the expectations that are inevitably being created for him here.

Meanwhile, Prentiss’ character (by the way, his last name immediately makes us think of Emily Prentiss from Criminal Minds) is going to be playing the part of the new EOD (Explosives Ordinance Disposal Tech) named Summer Kairos. There isn’t a whole lot more information out there about this role just yet, but we are excited to see what he brings to the show.

Recently, series star David Boreanaz noted that season 2 filming was already underway, but that some episodes are being filmed out of order for the sake of ensuring that the schedules lined up properly for everyone involved. The series is going to premiere on CBS in early October in the same timeslot that it had last season — Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. In the aftermath of the mission last season, we’re anticipating that season 2 is going to give us an even greater chance to dive into the psychology of some of these characters and how they feel about their jobs and putting their lives on the line.

What do you think about these new castings, and what are you looking forward to seeing the most when it comes to SEAL Team season 2? Let us know right now in the attached comments!
