Outlander notes: More Sam Heughan, Diana Gabaldon headlines!

Outlander season 4

Who’s ready for an afternoon edition of CarterMatt’s Outlander notes? We have another couple of headlines for you within, starting off with one more interview with Sam Heughan!

Sam stopped by for a new interview with SiriusXM as a means of promoting The Spy Who Dumped Me, and while there is not a whole lot of Outlander talk here, it is rather fascinating to hear him talk about doing some of the stunts that went into making the movie — and how many of them were a little bit more complicated than you would have first assumed! Take, for example, how the movie chose to replicate gun battles.

While Sam didn’t end up getting hurt during the production (thankfully), there are some reminders in here that there was a lot of serious work that went into making the movie as realistic as it could possibly be. We know that Sam does film actions sequences for Outlander and that there are more coming for him when he does his next project Bloodshot — which he will be doing before too long in South Africa!

New Diana Gabaldon announcement

For those of you who are dedicated book readers, you should be pleased to know that her collection of Outlander stories Seven Stories to Stand or Fall is now available in trade paperback! You can check that out on Amazon or your local bookseller. You can head over here to read some more thoughts from Diana about the stories and the meaning behind them. They give you more backstory and insight on several different characters within the series.

Gabaldon is continuing work on Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, the ninth book in the series about Jamie and Claire Fraser. There is one more book to go on the other side of that; at the moment, we know that there are at least two more seasons of the show, but over the weekend we came up with (just for  funzies), a mock release schedule for the remainder of the show if Starz actually goes a full ten seasons.
