The Resident season 2 spoilers: Dr. Lane Hunter will appear in some form

The Resident

Even though it doesn’t seem as though Dr. Lane Hunter is going to be a regular presence on The Resident season 2, rest assured — she’s not gone from the series completely. There will be an opportunity to see the character coming up in the very first episode back, in the aftermath of her arrest at the end of season 1.

In an interview with TVLine, show executive producer Todd Harthan confirmed Lane’s return, saying that Bruce Greenwood’s character of Dr. Bell (hardly a likable character in his own right) “has a moment with her. You definitely have not seen the last of her.”

Yet, how much damage can Lane really do to anyone behind bars? That’s one of the things that we have to wait and see, since we know that she is very smart and probably isn’t altogether happy with the fact that she was put away for the crimes that she’s been committing for some time. Also, we know that the character being arrested is not necessarily a guarantee that she ends up going to jail for a long time. While we cannot say for certain that there is going to be some sort of elaborate trial for the character, though we do think that this could be something rather fun for the show to explore.

The Resident season 2 will premiere on ABC this September, and we’re sure that even with Lane behind bars, Conrad and Nic are going to find themselves dealing with many other problems. That’s one of the things that we just tend to expect when you have someone like Conrad’s father now effectively in charge at the top. He has his own way of doing things, and we expect clashes with Conrad, Dr. Bell, and others. Maybe this actually unites the doctors in the hospital.
