Shameless season 9 episode order confirmed, to be split into halves

Shameless season 8

For anyone out there curious at the moment to learn the Shameless season 9 episode order, that has now finally been confirmed!

While at TCA today, Showtime finally confirmed that the Emmy Rossum – William H. Macy series is going to be airing 14 episodes for the upcoming season of the series. That’s an exciting prospect, mostly because it means that we are getting two additional episodes of the series than we are typically used to having. Who doesn’t want to celebrate that? Also, there was no confirmation today that the ninth season is going to be the final one for the series. That suggest that it’s at least possible that the Gallagher family gets together for one last gathering moving into the future. We don’t think that the series necessarily has many years left in the tank, but we certainly do think that it could go on for at least one more.

If there is some bad news, though, it is that Shameless season 9 is going to make you wait to see the second half of the season. The first seven episodes are going to be airing this fall, while the second seven are going to be airing in the winter. If Showtime is planning on making season 9 the final one for the series, it is certainly possible that they could announce it after the first half airs. That’s just something we have to be prepared for moving forward … just in case, since you never quite know just what is going to happen with a show like this.

Regardless of what the future holds for Shameless, one thing is definitely clear: This is a series that still has a loyal, devoted following and the network seems more than happy. If the ratings stay great, we feel like the network would want it on forever.
