Gotham season 5: Robin Lord Taylor hints at ‘big things’ for Oswald
In some ways, the writers are also probably aware that they have to given that Gotham season 5 is going to be the season that really turns Bruce Wayne into Batman, or at least the show’s version of him. This means that you need to not only bring Bruce closer to the Dark Knight than ever, but also evolve some of your other characters so that they are also a little bit closer to their comic-book counterparts. The latest photo below via Robin Lord Taylor’s Instagram gives you a small sense of how important this season will be for Oswald — it’s really Taylor’s own caption that seals the deal here. This is going to be a chance for Oswald to move closer to his destiny, though we also do think that he is closer to it right now than some other villains are.
What we’ve come to see about Cobblepot already is that he is a man who loves nothing more than ruling over the city. Yet, over the course of this series we’ve also explored the concept of what it means to rule. We have gotten a good chance to see what Oswald in government looks like, just as there has also been an opportunity to learn more about him operating behind the scenes. With Jerome and Jeremiah, there is also a difference in attitude. Oswald doesn’t want to destroy the city, mostly because if that happens, what is there to really rule?
