Are you ready to see the Court of Owls come back on Gotham season 5? If so, we’ve got another tease of just what could very well be the return of this group.
The photo below comes via the official Instagram of executive producer Danny Cannon, and it is emblematic of a lot of different visual changes moving into the final season. We’ve already seen one such update with Barbara Kean, and we’re getting another chance to see one now. This group definitely looks much more fearsome that the original Court of Owls we saw on the show in the past. While technically it’s not confirmed to be the Court (who underwent some, shall we say, sweeping changes in the past), it’s hard to correlate this visual style to anyone else. This may also be the season 5 iteration of the assassin group the Talons.
No matter the meaning of this photo, we do think that one fact nonetheless remains the same: We’re gearing up for an excellent final season with Batman squaring off against some of the most fearsome opponents that he has faced so far. The Court is an especially intimidating group just because they have political minds and also a lot of control. There are many foes within Gotham who are dangerous because of their combat skills; however, there are others who are dangerous because of who they can get in order to fight for them.
Season 5 filming has already started in New York City, even though it does not appear as though we’re going to have a chance to see some of these episodes air for a good while. (Think early 2019.) With it only being potentially ten episodes, the writers are going to have a lot to cram in to a reasonably short period of time. Let’s hope that they pull it off.
