Better Call Saul season 4: Michael McKean still returning

Better Call Saul season 4

Even though Chuck McGill may no longer be with us on Better Call Saul season 4, rest assured Michael McKean is still around.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, show executive producer Peter Gould confirmed that McKean will still play a role in the series to come, though our sentiment is that you are going to continue to see him turn up via flashbacks. This is one of the most natural ways in which to use a character from beyond the grave, mostly because the other way is in a dream sequence and that feels like something that has been done on too many other shows already. Plus, one of the things about Jimmy after Chuck’s death is that there could be a part of him elated to not have that voice in his ear anymore. It’s hard to really imagine him spending too much more time thinking about what he is going to say in  every single situation.

Beyond Chuck’s death, it does feel like Jimmy will also have his hands full with a multitude of other stories moving forward this season. Just remember that, over the course of the coming weeks, he will still be facing a suspension from his job as a lawyer. Beyond that, he also needs to figure out a way in which to be there for Kim, who could still be recovering from her accident. At some point down the line, he is going to become Saul Goodman, and the results of that transformation are likely going to be painful for a number of people out there. We’ve come to love Jimmy in this current form.
