Last Man Standing season 7 at TCA: Molly Ephraim’s exit, new character coming
If you recall, that’s something that we reported on a little bit earlier today, but in this article we’re going to offer up some of the biggest takeaways in terms of scoop for the upcoming season. There’s also a video below with more insight, so be sure to check that out! Also, subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube while you’re at it so you don’t miss any more news on the show.
Molly Ephraim is gone – This has been reported for a little while now, but it was officially confirmed at the panel. We almost expected that the show would announce her replacement today (would’ve been great timing), but that didn’t happen. The new Mandy is still being cast.
As for the reason why she’s leaving, it doesn’t have to do with anything other than her schedule — she’s involved in other projects since the show was canceled and doesn’t have time to do it now.
Eve will be back – Kaitlyn Dever will recur, which means that she won’t be a part of every episode. Story-wise, that makes sense based on the end of season 6. She will be visited at times at the Air Force Academy, and she’ll also come home here and there.
You will see what happened during the show’s time away – The producers confirmed that at least one episode will touch on some of what happened while the show was off the air.
There will be a nod to the show coming back on the air – That is something that you will see in the very first scene of the upcoming September 28 premiere. You don’t have to wait all that long for that!
There is a new foreign exchange student coming – Odds are, this will offset not seeing as much of Eve on the show. It’s also a chance to introduce a new element to the series.
The show is, effectively, still the same – Really, Last Man Standing is planning to still be the same show that it once was. There are no plans to dramatically shake things up just because it’s on a new network.
