Crime Dynamic Duos 2018: Hawaii Five-0 (Steve / Danny) vs. Goliath (Billy / Patty)
What are the rules of the tournament? Basically, all eligible shows have to still be in the midst of their run on TV as of August 1, and at least one character involved needs to be involved in solving crimes in some capacity. They can be a cop, a private investigator, a federal agent, a lawyer, or a high-ranking officer. What matters is that they put plenty of bad people away.
Voting Rules – Vote however often as you like! Voting for Round 1 is open until Friday, August 10 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. Round 2 will begin the following day; the image at the top of the article should explain everything.
In this article, the focus is on Steve and Danny of Hawaii Five-0 versus Billy and Patty of Goliath.
Steve and Danny, Hawaii Five-0 (#1 seed) – These guys made it all the way to the finals of the Crime Dynamic Duos tournament last year, and when you think about that they’ve got a pretty good opportunity to make it back there again — especially with the reigning champions in Sharon and Andy from Major Crimes no longer in contention. Steve and Danny are the heartbeat of Hawaii Five-0 because of their ability to solve a case under just about any circumstance, but also their ability to be a team every step of the way. They offer up a lot of comedy, but also a lot of humor at the same time. Adding the restaurant to the mix over the past couple of years as a sideplot is really just the proverbial icing on the cake when it comes to the two of them solidifying their love of working together.
Billy and Patty, Goliath (#8 seed) – Billy and Patty are such a great duo and for so many reasons. They continuously push each other in ways that challenge them and help them both grow as lawyers. When we first met up with Billy in season 1 he wasn’t really even practicing anymore after he helped to get a man off of murder charges only for that person to go and murder an entire family, but it was Patty that brought him a case that helped to get that fire in him going again. Not only that, but Patty isn’t afraid to call Billy out on his you-know-what and that’s someone he really needs in his life. On the flip side, Patty is a real estate agent and a DUI lawyer, so we’ve seen Billy pushing her out of her comfort zone as she learned about being a trial lawyer. Their relationship may not be pretty most of the time, but they are there for each other and work together perfectly.
