The Sinner season 2 episode 1 sneak peek: Ambrose on the scene

The sinner season 2

We’ve been waiting eagerly for The Sinner season 2 episode 1 for quite some time, but come Wednesday night, the new season will be here!

Below, CarterMatt has a small sneak peek for you to check out as to what’s coming up, including one of the most interesting aspects of the mystery. Before we dive too far into that, though, let’s map out what the show is about. Season 2 revolves around a returning Harry Ambrose, who comes back to his hometown after being contacted to help resolve a particularly grisly murder case. The accused murderer this time around is a young boy named Julian, someone who apparently poisoned his own parents.

Yet, the sneak peek makes it clear that things are, somehow, even more unusual than it first appears. Apparently, the two parents did not bring any items to care for their son — there is no bag with clothes or really anything else for Julian. What were they planning to do? All of them were staying at a hotel, which leaves you to wonder if the parents were planning to kill the boy themselves and then easily dispose of the body. Or, maybe you can make the case that they were planning to just abandon hi.

Ultimately, something is amiss here and that brings us back to one of the main question marks at the heart of this series: Why did the crime happen? This is not a show so much about the who when it comes to the murder. The goal here instead is to fill in a number of the little cracks and try to get a somewhat better sense of some of the little ins and outs that make the motive make sense. We do not expect any immediate answers. As a matter of fact, it’s really better for us if the case takes some time.
