Could Young & Hungry season 6, or at least a wrap-up movie, happen?
The sad thing about Young & Hungry is that at the time in which the finale was written, nothing was altogether cemented when it comes to the future of the show. Therefore, there was no way in which to retroactively go back and write the perfect finale. The show had to air the episode in the way that it was shot, and that’s what they did.
So, is there any reason to have some hope for the future? If you’re looking for a full-on season 6, it doesn’t appear as though this is going to be happening. Yet, it does feel like there is a reasonable chance that some sort of wrap-up movie could happen that could tie up some loose ends. Speaking in a new interview on the subject over at TVLine, series star Emily Osment confirms that she has had some talks about taking part in a movie that could offer up more of a proper conclusion.
At the moment, nothing is altogether confirmed; yet, we will keep you posted regarding that. We do think a movie would go a long way in order to satisfy people who are disappointed. In general, we do wish that more shows would have some sort of way in which to offer resolution after the fact. We understand that television is a business, but at the same time business is reliant on customers. The more you cancel shows without some sort of proper conclusion, you run the risk of hurting business. While nobody may be happy when it comes to a cancellation, getting something more is certainly better than getting nothing.
In the end, we’ll see what happens here when it comes to the future of the series.

I hate that the show ‘Young and Hungry’ has been cancelled with nothing more in sight for now! I hate having to speculate about what happened next in a series cut too short, which Freeform, formerly ABC Family, seems to do often! This was a show that could make me laugh so hard I would cry! It also had the romance and drama that some people need to stay interested! I really wish that there was going to be a sixth season but if the network can’t see to make a tv movie, at the very least, then I have to question the sanity and intelligence of the executives at Freeform!
