Shadowhunters season 3 finale filming updates, cupcakes, and more

Shadowhunters season 3 cast

In today’s Shadowhunters update, we are putting the focus back on filming for the season 3 finale … and there is quite a bit to discuss here!

Let’s start with Maia, mostly because it is nice to have verification that she will, in fact, be a part of the final two episodes of the season despite Alisha Wainwright being cast recently in another project. This was confirmed by co-showrunner Todd Slavkin, who is currently directing up in Toronto (if you haven’t been to Toronto, it’s a really wonderful city that we lived in for many years). He confirmed this while in the midst of offering up some other praise for some of the other co-stars including Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Matthew Daddario, and others. Check out some of his tweets that CarterMatt has for you below for some other thoughts on this particular subject.

Just in case you were wondering about whether or not there will be any major Malec moments in these final episodes, rest assured that you are going to get some of those, as well. Malec is one of the foundations of Shadowhunters, and the relationship between the Magnus – Alec characters has inspired hope and passion in so many fans all over the world. Consider this just one of many different reasons why fans are fighting so hard in order to save the show.

A video message from Luke Baines

It was reportedly recently that Baines was cast to play the new iteration of Jonathan on the series and now, you can see a new video message from him below! He’s so happy and full of energy here, and yet will be quite the adversary for many of our heroes moving forward.

One other sweet story

Today, the Shadowhunters cast and crew got a rather nice gift from fans in the form of cupcakes! These were delivered to everyone filming up in Toronto as yet another reminder that the fans are still fighting for them to have a new home.
