NCIS: Los Angeles season 10: The hopes for Densi, beyond survival

Densi wedding

Mrs. Carter: What could the future be for Densi moving into NCIS: Los Angeles season 10?

When looking at some of what could be coming up for Deeks and Kensi, obviously survival needs to be at the top of the list. While the producers seem to be more than fine revealing that Kensi is okay (there’s plenty of evidence of Daniela Ruah on set), everyone is being a bit more coy with Deeks. Could this mean that Eric Christian Olsen is leaving? I don’t want to start worrying or imagining that right now, because it’s just too sad to think of the show without him! I do think that everything will work out fine in the end, but everything within this article is being made with the assumption that, one way or another, the character finds a way to make it through.

So, if Deeks and Kensi make it through all of this, doesn’t it feel like it’s the right time for a wedding? Near-death experiences are often the sort of things that make people opt to do something that they have always wanted to, and there has been a little bit of wedding planning here and there already. I don’t know if there’s a reason to wait for this wedding beyond the premiere or, at the latest, maybe November sweeps, but if it gets stretched out longer I don’t think anyone’s going to be all that happy.

There is also so much more that can be done with these characters beyond just the ceremony, as well. Take, for example, getting a chance to see what the emotional ramifications are to the two of them being in so much danger. Is Kensi’s philosophy different about the job after the Mexico mission? Is Deeks thinking differently? Does this make him want to accelerate his goal of owning a bar? All of these are questions to think about and I want to see Densi have some adult discussions about the future and what it looks like — they’re often a beacon of fun moments with this show, but it certainly feels like a good time to get serious in that respect.

Beyond just this, though, I do want to see Densi doing more of what they’re great at: Working together and having a good time. While not every moment for the two needs to be a happy one, it does feel like the typical balance of their relationship should be restored after things went dark at the end of last season. You can still have deep conversations while also being cognizant of why people love these characters.
