NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 spotlight: The future for Eric Beale
Let’s kick things off here by just discussing some of where things are with him right now: Even though he remains one of the foremost tech experts within the team, he also has the ability to be out in the field in help in some rather-unexpected ways. He’s intuitive, he’s smart, and he also brings so much enthusiasm and drive to the table. He’s a source of comic relief even in some dark times.
So what could be coming up next? Take a look at some of the things we’d like to see below.
The latest on Nell and Eric – How much work is the show going to do to really define this relationship? We know that they are together, but many of their romantic moments are fairly short and fleeting. We don’t think that this is going to change too much in the immediate future, mostly because Deeks and Kensi are dominating a lot of the romantic airtime. Yet, on the other side of their wedding (provided that they survive the cliffhanger and there is a wedding), we do think the time is right to start exploring things more in a tangible way.
More undercover Eric – This is always fun when it happens, mostly because it is such a different approach to the stories where Sam and Callen throw themselves into tough positions. While we know that NCIS: Los Angeles can do some fantastic action sequences, we do like to see some of those balanced out a little bit with more strategic, analytical missions. Eric is capable of being a driving force for some of these.
Vulnerable moments – Why not give Barrett Foa material that stretches him even more as a character? What would devastate him or bring him to a place of pain? We don’t want to see something terrible happen to the character, but at the same time we do want to see him tested. The more that happens, the richer the overall story is going to be.
