The Crown season 3: When could trailer with Tobias Menzies, Olivia Colman be released?

Crown season 3

The Crown season 3 is going to be premiering at some point in 2019, but for the sake of this article, we’re honing in on a particular conversation: When could the first trailer be released? When could we start to see some footage of what really lies ahead?

We do think via process of elimination that it’s not extremely hard to figure this one out. For starters, just take a look at the second season of the show. The first trailer-of-sorts for season 2 came out in August 2017, which was a little over three months from when that season actually started to stream on Netflix. With that in mind, we wouldn’t be altogether shocked to see a season 3 trailer either near the end of this year on in early 2019, depending on precisely when the series chooses to launch. Because of all the recastings this year, things are a little bit slower behind the scenes and patience is a key. There’s no need for anyone to rush anything along, mostly because you don’t need to get information out there a good half a year before the show is going to premiere.

Of course, it is with all of these recastings in mind that there is so much more intrigue about the upcoming season. Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies are replacing Claire Foy and Matt Smith. It’s a big risk, but it is one that we think will work out. These are both super-talented performers and of course because of that, we’ve got extremely-high hopes for whatever is coming up for both of them. Still, this is a risk, mostly in that recasting an entire show is not something that you often see within the TV world. We expect a trailer to feature Colman and Menzies front and center; beyond that, some of the supporting characters and challenges that await Queen Elizabeth and Philip as they reach a new point in their lives.
