Riverdale season 3, The Orville season 2, and The Magicians news! (Quick Hits)
Ready for another edition of Comic-Con Quick Hits? Today, we’re discussing Riverdale season 3, The Orville, and The Magicians.
Let’s kick things off here with the Riverdale news, as Penelope Ann Miller has been brought on board the show’s season 3 cast. The actress is going to be playing Ms. Wright, the district attorney who will be assigned the case against Archie Andrews. Per the official character description (via TVLine), this character is “savvy and eloquent … with a conviction in mind, she will weave together disparate moments of Archie’s young life to portray him as a dangerous, violent sociopath who is capable of committing a heinous crime.”
Riverdale season 3 is going to premiere at some point this fall on The CW. Hopefully, Archie doesn’t get locked away from the outside world for too long!
As for some other news…
The Orville season 2 preview
Is it one of TV’s most underrated series? We think it could be, especially in terms of how critics completely misread the show. It’s an optimistic look at the universe and while there is some silly Seth MacFarlane comedy at the heart of it, there is also a lot of heart and a spirit you don’t find too much on TV these days.
The Orville season 2 is going to premiere come Sunday, December 30 — basically, you’re going to be waiting a rather-long time in order to see it.
The Magicians featurette
This “look” at the upcoming fourth season isn’t so much about the story of the show as it is just making us laugh, but we’re also more than happy than that! Given that the premiere of the new season is still many months away, we prefer this than just having some sort of super-short teaser that doesn’t offer much in the way of information at all.
As for right now, there is no firm premiere date at all beyond “2019,” but hopefully, there will be something more by the end of the year.
Of course, we welcome some of your thoughts in the attached comments!
