Wynonna Earp renewed for season 4 at San Diego Comic-Con
Going into the convention, we admittedly didn’t think that there was much of a chance of this happening so soon, mostly because only one episode has aired and Syfy has a history of waiting a long time to renew shows (if they renew them at all). Yet, there’s clearly something about the comic adaptation that they love, whether it be its story, its message, or the incredibly-loyal Earper fanbase. We do think that they adore the amount of social traffic that the series brings in, which stands out head and shoulders above the majority of the rest of their programming.
In a statement via The Hollywood Reporter confirming the season 4 renewal news, show executive producer Emily Andras had the following to say:
“We are absolutely delighted that Wynonna Earp has been renewed for a fourth season … We are so grateful to Syfy for their relentless and ferocious support of the series and the ‘Earper’ fandom.”
For those wondering about some of the finer details for Wynonna Earp season 4, they are largely what you would expect. The series will once again run for ten episodes and, beyond that, will premiere at some point in 2019. We expect the summer scheduling to remain the same, mostly because it’s what has worked to date. Also, Syfy has an opportunity to brand itself as a destination for Friday-night summer programming at a time in which few other networks are even willing to give it a try.
The next new episode of season 3 airs this coming Friday. Want to preview it? Then head over to the link here; be worried in advance that Waverly is in some danger. Yet, even in the midst of all of the danger, we’ve still got a feeling there will be some signature Wynonna Earp fun at some point during the story.
