America’s Got Talent video: Shin Lim performs for Olivia Munn at Judge Cuts
In the video below, you can get a small sense as to what we’re talking about here as Shin performs a close-up magic routinely directly in front of the former Newsroom actress that she seems to be absolutely stunned by. We’ve all seen close-up magic acts with cards before, but there is something about how Shin does this that is on another level. He’s very deliberate and meticulous with just about everything that he does — every move feels believable, and it really does seem as though he has an excellent handle on the audience at all times. He’s also never in a hurry and does his part to ensure that we as viewers are captivated just about every step of the way. In the end, we’re not sure how we could ask for anything more in a contestant who is a part of this season. He’s bringing pretty much everything to the table here.
We know that there are a lot of people who really take great pleasure in trying to figure out how magicians do some of their tricks. We’re not one of those people but even if we were, we’re still speechless as to how he makes these cards disappear and reappear out of thin air. He may not be the flashiest magician, but Shin is one of the best and feels like an absolute lock to move forward into the live shows. The producers need someone like him, someone who is capable of delivering something a little bit different from the rest of the field.
While it’s hard to say for sure if Shin has a chance to win, we’d at least put him in our top ten.
