Outlander notes: New Sam Heughan video discussion; show fan panel
The video below comes via Flawsome Talk, and in this discussion Sam opens up about acting, handling fame, and also whether he feels that his appearance sometimes gets in the way of the attention paid to his appearance. We don’t necessarily think that the interviewer is altogether familiar with either Outlander or some of his past work, but it’s still a respectful, interesting discussion that feels different than many of the other interviews that we’ve seen. We actually wish that we could hear Sam in more podcasts, mostly because we think that there’s a lot of storytelling and discussion that could be done in that format that would suit him quite nicely.
Also, at the end of the interview there’s a fun moment where he claims he’s very much looking forward to the role that allows him to gain weight and just to eat as much food as possible.
We do imagine that there are many interviews that will be coming over the next few weeks with The Spy Who Dumped Me coming out. We’ll try to feature as many notable ones as we can.
Fan panel news
If you are at San Diego Comic-Con this year, there is a way in which you can be involved in celebrating/discussing the show — even if Starz is not there themselves promoting Outlander. There is a fan panel happening tomorrow in collaboration between The Outlander Podcast, Outlander TV News, and also the Great Scot Blog! You can check out some of the details via the Facebook post below, but what you need to know is that it starts at 12:00 p.m. Pacific time at the Neil Morgan Auditorium within the San Diego Central Library. A badge for the convention is required for this event, but not at the Mary Hollis Clark Room, which is where a fan gathering will happen after the fact starting at 1:00.
