Nashville series finale promo: Is Connie Britton returning as Rayna?

Is Connie Britton returning as Rayna on the Nashville series finale on CMT next week? Based on the promo that aired after the show tonight, they clearly want you to think that.

At the very end of this promo, you see a mystery redhead standing in the doorway, which makes Deacon questioning whether or not he’s dreaming. In our mind, it’s pretty clear that he is since nobody has the ability on this show in order to cast a resurrection spell, but we do think there would be value in Rayna coming back one more time for extra closure. Also, Connie Britton is nothing short of fantastic. Who wouldn’t want to see her continue to appear in some capacity?

Basically, we imagine that this finale is going to be epic no matter what happens, as we’ve got many different stories to check out. For starters, it’s possible that Brad’s time at Shiny New could be coming to a close, which we’ve been really begging to see now for quite some time. Beyond just that, we also could end up seeing Daphne win her singing competition and there could be opportunities for Juliette and Avery to find a little bit of closure for their own relationship. We’ve got a feeling that there could be some major revelations coming in terms of her pregnancy.

If you’ve loved Nashville over the years, it definitely feels as though this is an episode that you’re not going to want to miss under any circumstances. It’s a celebration of everything the show is, coupled maybe with what it was even back in its days at ABC. It’s still pretty incredible that we even got these past two seasons given how ABC had effectively ended it back after season 4. It’s only here on the strength of its loyal fanbase.
