Chicago Med character spotlight: Dr. Sarah Reese’s season 4 journey

Dr. Sarah Reese is one of Chicago Med’s most underrated characters.  Her journey from ER Doctor to psych resident was one of the interesting storylines and we also enjoy her tackling new patients and cases. However, this past season was pretty emotional for her. She started off the season scared to death after Dr. Charles was shot and suddenly saw her profession as a potential death sentence. Since then she has overcome her fear; however, in its place was the return of her estranged father who brought questionable antics.

As Season 3 continued on, Dr. Charles began to uncover move of Sarah’s father’s secret, including the mysterious disappearance of a college girl who was a student of her father’s. When Dr. Charles and Dr. Reese visited her father’s apartment, Dr. Charles discovered a clue that points to her father having some type of involvement in the college girl’s disappearance.

So what lies ahead for Dr. Reese? We have some ideas below.

Her relationship with her father – While Dr. Reese believes that she and her dad are working toward having a better relationship, we know troublesome times lie ahead. Between his health and his request to have Sarah take care of him, we can just sense the growing tension, and Sarah might not even realize it. So it will be interesting to see how their relationship will evolve over time if he survives the cliffhanger.

Dr. Charles and Dr. Reese – Their relationship has been one big roller coaster. One second they are on the same page and the next there is tension. The two grew close as Dr. Charles tried to help Sarah threw her rough patch, but after he confessed that he suspected that he father had some involvement in his student’s disappearance, Sarah refused to believe it. So going into Season 4, we hope to see this storyline continue. It adds a suspicious vibe to the show that fills it with an anticipation we can’t quite describe.

Her career – During Season 4, we want to see where Sarah is in her career. We know she enjoys it, but we want to know more. For example, what year is she in and is this the path she truly wants? In other words, we want an update. We love this character and want to see her succeed.
