Cloak & Dagger episode 9 preview: Tandy, Tyrone deal with fallout

Cloak & Dagger

Moving into Cloak & Dagger episode 9 on Freeform next week, it feels clear that we’re moving into an environment that is very different from what has transpired before. Tandy and Tyrone may have found some victories, but in the process also some reminders that victory within this world is short-lived. At the end of Thursday night’s new episode we saw the character of Fuchs dead in a refrigerator, which completely ruined O’Reilly’s ideas for a fun pancake breakfast. There are consequences to every action, and in the aftermath of what transpired tonight, it makes since that these characters would start to wonder whether or not any of their recent actions are truly worth it.

The title for Cloak & Dagger episode 9 is “Back Breaker,” and we think that the attached synopsis below offers up a little more insight into just what you can expect:

When triumph turns sour, both Tandy and Tyrone regress back to their old ways. But after everything that has happened, and actions that have been set into motion, can they truly go back to the way things once were? Meanwhile, Det. O’Reilly tries to deal with the recent fallout.

Ultimately, Cloak & Dagger episode 9 has to be an integral one because we’re getting close to the end of the show’s run this summer; because of that, tension is going to rise and we have to see the story evolve. It cannot just do the same thing over and over again. If that happens, you better anticipate a quick end to the show and we don’t want that. There’s potential here for so much more and we’re definitely interested to see how the writers choose to explore some of it coming up.

Also, what’s it going to take for Freeform to finally come through and renew this show? It feels like it’s time at this point.
