Elementary season 6 finale: Who should be the adversary?

Elementary season 6

We don’t think that it’s ever too early to start concentrating on the Elementary season 6 finale and with that in mind, we’re making it the focus of this article.

On Monday night, we’re going to see the Moriarty character have a larger presence than at any point so far this season — even if she does not surface on the show itself, she’s still going to have a big role to play. Meanwhile, we also know that Michael is still set to return at some point this season, mostly because you don’t make Desmond Harrington a regular and only use him in the first handful of stories within a season.

So which should be the Big Bad this year? We do think that there are cases to be made in both directions here.

For Moriarty – If the show really wants to surprise, this is a great way in which to do so! It’s been well-documented at this point that she is the show’s greatest villain, even if unfortunately Natalie Dormer is never really available to take part in any new episodes. We do still know that she’s out there, though, and that presence being a part of the finale is enough to make it into an event. There are no signs that Dormer will make an appearance this season, but she doesn’t need to in order to have a finale themed around Moriarty somehow.

For Michael – This just feels like the most likely scenario, largely in that this is the best way to bring the whole story of Elementary this season full-circle. We get a chance to see the show effectively finish what it started, and have the conclusion to this story set up everything that is exciting that could be coming up in season 7.
