Poldark season 4 episode 6 review: A bank plan; Ross, Demelza’s journey
Of course, given that this show cannot possibly give you too much time without an appearance from another terrible individual, we come to tonight’s episode, where George Warleggan decides that cutting Ross away from his savings would be one of his best tactics. Stripping Ross and Demelza of their money, a movie that came about after the death of Nat Pearce. The bank’s problems meant problems of course for Ross, who has to figure out precisely how he wants to move forward here. One way to do that is a loan, which could help them to continue to keep operations going.
Ross wanted to save Pascoe and his legacy; yet, George was desperate to use the bank failure as a means to destroy Ross’ reputation. Ultimately, he did succeed in making a grand showcase, one that concluded with Elizabeth having a fainting spell. (It was revealed later on that she was pregnant, which was the reason for said spell.)
Yet, you can’t keep a good Ross Poldark down, can you? He’s still fighting, and with that, he was able to still find some more people within the political world to be on their side. While we’re not going to say that Poldark is free of financial ruin just yet, we do think that there are some steps being made to thwart George once more. After all, he was able to bring together a new bank and serve as one of the partners.
Also, Demelza is heading to London with Ross this time! They’re going to be away from their children for a month, but they’ve got plenty of support back home.
As for Dwight and Caroline, the two had a very happy reunion tonight. While we do think that they are still grieving, maybe they are starting to realize that they are so much stronger together than they ever would be apart. Separately, it feels like they are still wrestling with their demons and trying to figure out a way in which to properly stay afloat.
Now, let us get to Morwenna, who had a lot to tackle and wrestle with tonight. She did love Drake, but she also knew that even in death, it was going to be hard to move away from Ossie’s terrible shadow. She still had to tackle some of these demons and better understand where she fit in the world.
Drake claimed that he was done with Morwenna, but at the end of the episode he decided to pay her one last visit to tell her that he still loved her. He made a last-minute plea to her, but unfortunately, it felt as though his proclamations fell on deaf ears. she told him that she was with child, and at that point, all of the pieces started to come into place. That was, in part, why she couldn’t bear to move forward with any relationship.
CarterMatt Verdict
Overall, Poldark season 4 episode 6 brought us a very entertaining episode of the show, but one that also featured a lot of struggle. At least the episode concluded with a romantic moment for Ross and Demelza involving a bed sheet, and some more hope for the future.
