Should Elementary season 7 feature Natalie Dormer … finally?

As we move forward with the knowledge that Elementary season 7 is now filming, this is a time in which there are even more questions worthy of being asked when it comes to the show’s future. The subject of this article is, at least for many, one of the most important questions of all: Are we going to get a chance to see more of Natalie Dormer on the series?

For anyone out there who follows Elementary closely, you know that the question of Moriarty’s return is one that has been out there a rather long time. She’s been mentioned on many occasions, but it’s been years since Dormer appeared in the flesh. There are many different reasons as to why we’re not seeing her, with the biggest one being simply that the schedule of Natalie isn’t allowing it. She’s a very busy person in between some of her movie work and some of the other creative gigs that she’s taking on. There are so many different components that come with booking a guest star, whether it be finding the right way to make it work schedule-wise or also trying to determine if there is a way in which to fit it into the story. For whatever reason, it hasn’t worked just yet, and we are doubtful it will work in season 7.

Yet, is it so wrong to have a little bit of hope? Given that Elementary is circling back in on the Moriarty story now, we wonder if there is at least a reason to have a little more optimism than what we’ve seen in the past. Story-wise, there are definitely reasons to make it happen. The same could be said ultimately for where Elementary is in its run at the moment, given that season 7 could end up being the final season — we’re not saying for sure that it is, but we are probably in the latter stages of the series’ run at the moment and it would be nice to see a Dormer appearance again before the end. If not season 7, then maybe a potential season 8 if the show ends up lasting that long.
