The Originals season 5 episode 11 promo analysis: Rebekah’s role
Obviously, in some ways getting to see more of Claire Holt on the series is not a surprise given that she’s a huge part of the story; yet, we do think that if you think back to the earlier part of the show, there was probably an assumption at that time that we were going to see so much more of this character than what we ended up seeing. (We used the photo above for nostalgic purposes.) Rebekah didn’t end up being a permanent part in the long-term and has often fluttered in and out of the story. With her appearing now, though, we’re hoping that she is going to be a huge part of the remaining episodes this season. We know that there is a rather good reason for her to be there — or, technically, there are two.
1. Freya and Keelin’s wedding – Do you really want to see Rebekah missing for one of the few super-romantic moments that were there on the show?
2. Trying to help Hope – At the moment, the dark magic is starting to eat away at this character, and we do suspect that this is going to be a major theme in much of what we end up seeing over the remainder of the series. Rebekah in theory could be able to help. At the very least, she is another valuable asset that the Mikaelsons have at their disposal and it would be a shame for them to ignore her contributions.
