Wynonna Earp season 3 episode 1 video: The calm before a storm
The sneak peek below comes courtesy of IGN, and it features a small, intimate moment between Waverly and Nicole as they wake up, comfort each other amidst talk of dreams, and then start to get the wheels turning as to the day ahead. Of course, in the world of Wynonna Earp, though, there are always going to be problems around every corner … and also outdoors and near a barn. The end of this sneak preview is a pretty good indicator that Wayhaught’s quiet time is probably going to come to an abrupt end … and that will probably be a recurring theme for most of the season.
The reality with a show like this is that while we love to see characters together and happy, writers often love to generate conflict. The happy moments will be interspersed with a number of moments of conflict throughout the season. While there will be at times reasons for all of us to smile, there are also going to be at the same time reasons for us to be worried — maybe not so much about the status of Wayhaught as a couple, but about other forces trying to mess up their lives.
Moving into season 3, we imagine that for all characters, evolution will be key. Everyone is working towards being more comfortable in their own skin, and for Nicole and Waverly, that will include the two of them getting more comfortable in their relationship. What they go through within this season should be fairly comparable to what many different characters go through on a fairly regular basis.
