ABC moves Take Two to earlier timeslot Thursday nights
So what is the plan now for Take Two moving forward? It’s really so simple as airing the show at a new timeslot Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, a spot previously occupied by The Gong Show. Given that Take Two wasn’t faring altogether well in its timeslot, and the same can also be said for The Gong Show at the end of the day, it does make a certain degree of sense for the folks over at ABC to give this move a shot. What they effectively get out of this is a chance to see if they can improve the numbers for both shows since, in a perfect world, both should be able to get another season.
The show that we think has been screwed over the most at the moment is Take Two given that, on paper, this feels like a program that should be a hit. Why did ABC really think that The Proposal, a series meant mostly for hate-watching for a single week, would really be a better long-term investment? We really wish that Take Two had gotten that timeslot after The Bachelorette on Monday night — it could’ve snatched up some of those viewers, especially since Rachel Bilson is a familiar face and viewers in Bachelor Nation are likely familiar with some of her work already in between The OC and also Hart of Dixie.
We’ll see whether or not this move helps Take Two, as next week’s new episode (watch a preview for it here) boasts one other notable thing: A guest-starring appearance from Seamus Dever who was a part of Castle for many years.
