Chicago Fire season 7 premiere title revealed; filming starts soon

Chicago Fire

Excited for Chicago Fire season 7 filming to arrive? With production starting up next week on the NBC series, there is definitely a good bit of stuff to look forward to … but let’s kick things off here, first and foremost, by sharing the premiere title.

In a new post on Twitter, show executive producer Derek Haas revealed that “A Closer Eye” is going to be the first installment that you see this fall. It’s one that Derek wrote himself, so that should be a pretty clear sign that it’ll be awesome. It’s also facing one of the biggest challenges of any season of the show to date. At the time in which the season 7 finale was written, there were several uncertain contract situations that needed to be resolved. For example, the future of Boden (Eamonn Walker) on the series was a little bit unclear, but now we know that he is coming back. Unfortunately, Monica Raymund has left and with that, there are some questions that we’ve got regarding just how the Gabriela Dawson character is going to be written off. Are she and Casey still together, and does Dawson ever have any intention of coming back? These are things that Chicago Fire needs to figure out.

Beyond all of this, there are also some other things to consider for the time being, including trying to determine whether or not there will be a new addition to Firehouse 51 right away. The writers are going to need to figure out the right way in which to replace Raymund, and that in itself is going to be no easy task since nobody really can. The best thing that you can hope to see is some sort of performer who captures the essence of who this character was while also contributing something new to the series.
