2018 Emmys: The Terror, Darren Criss, Tobias Menzies, Nicole Kidman top limited series reader picks

CarterMatt Readers have spoken, at least when it comes to who they want to see nominated at the 2018 Emmy Awards on Thursday.

Ever since early June, readers have been voting extensively on a number of different categories in terms of who they want to see nominated. The results are in for the limited series / TV movie categories are within this article, and we have to say that the winners are scattered across a number of interesting/great shows! That bodes well for the future of TV as a whole, given that there are a lot of really great shows within here.

Let’s break some of these down a little bit further now…

Limited Series The Terror managed to dominate this category for the most part, and for good reason given what it gave us both visually and emotionally a little bit earlier this season.

Actor, Limited Series / TV Movie – This was actually the closest Emmy poll that we’ve done, with it going back and forth throughout between Benedict Cumberbatch and Darren Criss for The Assassination of Gianni Versace. It was close, but in our poll it was Darren who took it home.

Actress, Limited Series / TV Movie – Regina King won this among CarterMatt readers, which really just makes us all the more bitter that Seven Seconds didn’t get a second season over at Netflix. This, clearly, was a show with more story to tell.

Supporting Actor, Limited Series / TV Movie – For the second time in our nomination polling, Tobias Menzies is the winner! He is also our readers’ pick for a nomination for his Supporting Actor in a Drama Series role over on Outlander.

Supporting Actress, Limited Series / TV Movie – Nicole Kidman, Top of the Lake: China Girl. Given how much Kidman embodied this character and completely transformed herself for the role, we cannot argue with this one in the slightest.

Congratulations to some of our poll winners! Whether or not these influence actual Emmy nominations tomorrow remain to be seen, but the messages we’ve got as a result of them this year is loud and clear.
